Anders Petersen, To Belong
Following the earthquake that struck the Italian region Emilia Romagna in 2012, Studio Blanco conceived a project that could both witness the difficult times that the region was going through and celebrate the reaction of its people. To Belong is a book and exhibition glueing together faces and places through the eyes of renowned Swedish photographer Anders Petersen.
A Book and an Exhibition
To Belong came out in a limited edition book that quickly sold out. It also turned into an exhibition that was hosted at renowned international photo festivals such as Paris Photo, Fotografia Europea (Reggio Emilia) Festival dell’Internazionale (Ferrara). For the earthquake’s fourth anniversary, it was presented at Club Silencio, a Parisian club designed by David Lynch.
"Petersen's photos create a small poem about Emilia, which sews up that deep crack and returns this land, whole, to the humanity that has always belonged here." (excerpt from the book, text by Cosimo Bizzarri)

And more
During the eight days that took Petersen to make his reportage, we also shot a short film aimed at unveiling his approach and feelings while working on the ground. The film was then included in a micro-website dedicated to the project.
