Celebrating 90 YEARS anniversary: MARAZZI UNDER THE SKIN

Marazzi. Under the Skin

Marazzi. Under the Skin is an editorial project celebrating Marazzi’s 90th anniversary, where ceramics become a narrative material, capable of telling the story of spaces and the people who inhabit them. We curated and designed the project as a journey into the brand’s archive, exploring the stories, people and ideas behind the tiles. Our aim was to go beyond the surface, revealing the cultural and creative layers that define Marazzi’s identity. Together with writer Cosimo Bizzarri, we developed a narrative that weaves memory, design and imagination, offering a renewed perspective on the brand’s history.

Charlotte Taylor
We collaborated with designer Charlotte Taylor to create a visual narrative around the concept of ideal living. Her images interpret Marazzi’s ceramics as elements that shape everyday life, blending emotional and imaginative dimensions into reflections on domestic space. The project also features personal contributions from Valentina Cameranesi, Aldo Cibic, Objects of Common Interest, Studio Utte, and Olimpia Zagnoli, who shared intimate memories and reflections connected to the homes they grew up in. These voices reinforce Marazzi’s contemporary cultural positioning.

90 Marazzi Icons
We selected 90 iconic Marazzi designs to trace the evolution of the brand’s identity. Each piece contributes to a broader narrative, highlighting Marazzi’s role in shaping Italian and international ceramic culture over nine decades and emphasizing the depth of the archive.
Tile Week
The book was first presented at Milan Design Week 2025 and later showcased at Tile Week as an open-air installation. The editorial narrative was translated into a spatial experience, connecting Marazzi’s past, present and future.
The installation, documented by Paolo Abate, was accompanied by printed materials and on-site media, all developed within the same storytelling framework.
Social Content
The project extended to Marazzi’s social channels through a dedicated content strategy. Short narratives, visual excerpts and archival fragments expanded the book’s storytelling into the digital space, celebrating and amplifying Marazzi’s 90-year history.
Result
We curated a COMPELLING NARRATIVE for MARAZZI’s anniversary, spanning print, digital, and experiential touchpoints.
